JULES
Description of the Code
The code of JULES is written in FORTRAN. Separate subroutines are used to model different processes within the land surface such as photosynthesis, soil water fluxes, snow melt etc. A list of the subroutines is given in the documentation (JULES documentation). At present, all the subroutines need to be run and no substitutions can be made, e.g. to replace the soil water formulation. In future, the code will be modularised and the user will be able to test out new formulae.
