JULES
Parameter variability
In order to calibrate the JULES model at a site against observed data, or in order to explore the sensitivity of JULES to the model parameters and quantify the uncertainty of the model predictions, it is necessary to allow the model parameters to vary. With this facility it is possible to identify any of the model parameters, and to run the model for a set number of times (e.g. 10,000 runs) while those varied parameters are combined either regularly (every value of one parameter against every value of another) or randomly (random combinations allows for a finer splitting up of the parameter field for the same number of runs). This will be available shortly (see management of JULES for release dates).
